    Hello,
I'm new at A to Z Teacher Stuff.
    Very excited to be here.

    I had a question though...
Yesterday (Friday) I had an interview, thought I didn't do too well because I was shaking the whole time, I don't know why I was nervous more than ever!!

About 10 minutes after I left the school I interviewed for, I got a call saying that the interview committee was impressed and the principal would like to meet with me again Monday!
The person I was speaking to said clearly that it is NOT 2nd interview.
The interviewing process is over and I'm going in to speak with the principal. What does that mean??
So is it like a second interview?? Would it be less formal then? What should I wear??
Has anyone been called back, but has been told it is not for 2nd interview?
-How should I prepare myself and what type of questions should be prepared for when I meet with the principal.
Thank you so much for all of your help!!! :thanks: :)

Oh my how stressful. I have no idea. I was hired as an ed tech a couple years ago. The principal I was going to be working for was not at the interview. So I was called back to go meet him. He just gave me a tour of the school and the paper work to fill out so I was paid.

Thank for the reply MissFrizzle and JaimeMarie!
Just to let you know the principal was there yesterday at the interview.
So would she ask me further questions when I'm meeting with her on Monday?

Perhaps they knew you were nervous. Maybe the principal would rather speak to you one on one to get a better idea of your character. I think that whatever the reason is, it is a good thing! Obviously, they know you are worth their time!

I agree, any time there is a call back it is a good thing. They would not call you back if they were not interested. The principal probably just needs to get to know you a little better.
Dress for success, and be ready for more interview type questions maybe a more personal interview...

That's great! It sounds like you may have a job. I had to interview for the district first where I will be teaching next year. Now, I am waiting for principals to call me. So, I guess what I am trying to say is,it's not unusual. Or at least I don't think so. It's probably just how they do things there. So, don't be nervous....relax :) And, I would still dress professionally if I were you. I hope I could be of some help...

    Jennifer :)

Sounds like you may have the job! Good luck! I would treat this just like your interview - dress for an interview etc. I don't know that you can really prepare for the questions the principal might ask. I've found that going over my resume reminds me of things I've done that i want to be sure to mention to the principal in an interview. I often take notes and have some notes of things I want to be sure I tell them about myself. If you know anyone at the school you could talk to them and find out the focus of the school - learning focused, Four Block, yadda yadda yadda. Good luck!

Thank you everyone for all your helpful suggestions, tips, and advices!!! :thanks:
Monday morning, I went in for "second interview" (dressed to impress, just like many of you have suggested), which wasn't an interview at all. The principal sat me down and asked if I was interested in the position. She said the committe was impressed and she was offering me the job! So I have a job now!!!! :)
She asked me once again if I had any questions regarding the position, school, district, etc. I prepared some questions to ask in case the principal was going to ask me if I had any questions.

Good luck everyone!!!!!! And God bless!

CONGRATULATIONS! At being dressed to impress is good. She will remember that, and being an art teacher she will probably see you in an apron from now on lol.
