I just found out recently that I landed the job of my dreams as a college administrator. Some of you may have seen that I had an out of state interview. I went through that process, and it went well--very well. I just accepted the job last week. It's a job I never really expected to be considered for, but I was considered because I had an advanced degree that wasn't in education. I've received permission to leave mid-year at my current school, so this is it. I've got roughly a week and a half left, and I'm not a teacher anymore. My mind is reeling right now. I'm excited about my new position, but of course I still have some loose ends to tie up before I leave my job and move across the country. I'm catching myself lesson planning for January... when I'll be out of the classroom and into my new office. Wow. This is already a whirlwind and it hasn't even gotten to the crazy part.
