I'm developing a free (grant supported) tool, but I'm having an impossible time getting anyone to give it a try. I know it's a difficult time of year with testing at every level, and I feel terrible asking my colleagues to add something else to their endless to-do lists when getting grading done is a stretch (and an incredible accomplishment!) I really believe this is a positive way to blend technology into class labs and activities, but if I don't get some feedback, I'll never be able to grow and sustain. So, I have two questions: (Q1) What makes you try something new in your classroom? (Q2) What do you absolutely love about a tool that you use, that keeps you coming back? I appreciate your thoughts and insight. Many thanks! Claire
It really depends on the tool. Is for grading? Is for assessment? Is it for my use or student use, or both? Is it for presentations? I am the tech guru in the building, so I am always the first to usually try things. It has to be useful for me and easy to use. It has to make me turn away from something I already do because it's better, faster, easier. Be sure you before you spend tons of time creating whatever it is that isn't already something out there that does it.
