I like board games, but I don't play them much because I don't have many...just Scrabble, Checkers, Dominoes. I haven't put together a puzzle in eons.

What are the most popular adult board games out there? I've heard Apples to Apples is good.

I just got Double Shutter. It's a dice game and pretty fun. YOu have to take turns and the turns can take a while so it's not fast paced.

I also just got Pentago Multiplayer Mind Twisting. It's like connect 5 with a twist. Pretty good game also.

I have a nice collection of games in my closet.:)

Apples to Apples IS really fun!

One of my favorites is Loaded Questions, someone reads the question on the card and everyone writes down their answer. Then one of the players read them to the person who is 'it' and they try to guess who's is who's.

True Colors is pretty fun too...you can anonymously answer questions about the other players. The result is always so funny!

I hope you find something fun and have a good Holiday!!

Farkle can be fun. (It is a dice game.)

Toss Up is a very small game (can fit in your pocket) and is lots of fun.

THe new scrabble game, with 5 electronic letters is fun and you can play it alone or with 2 or 3 players.

I just got Apples to Apples for Christmas. I can't wait to play it!

Scattergories is one of my favorites, too. There's also a game my students brought in one day called Life's a Pitch that looked like fun. I think it's similar to Apples to Apples but you have to defend your answer.

We love Apples to Apples and Catchphrase. I also got a new game called "Things." It is a fun game that you can play with kids (for the most part) or it can be an extremely fun game with adults!

Apples to Apples is great, especially if you add some alcohol to the mix:) (But I think I remember that you do not drink)

Other good ones are Scattergories, Cranium, and Taboo

We love Sequence. We've had it for a long time, but we love to play. It is a partner card game. We also love to play Catchphrase, and Scattergories. I want to buy Apples to Apples too.

We are a Euro Games family. Our favorites are: Dominion, Pandemic, Ticket to Ride, Lost Cities, Stone Age, and Acquire. Settlers of Catan is the most popular of these kinds of games, but we don't like that one as much. I also like set building games, like, well, SET, and Phase 10, Pentago, etc.

Other than that, we play: Apples to Apples, Pop 5 (and other Cranium variants,) Scrabble, Tribond, Scattergories, Catchphrase, Guesstures, etc.

I like playing a board game called Arkham Horror. It's prettty complicated and takes several hours to complete the simplest set up. I don't know how popular it is. It's based off of Lovecraftian horror and the Call of Cthulu.

There's also a board game called Game of Thrones based after G.R.R.Martin's series of novels by the same name. It's kind of like Risk but with some big differences such as no dice at all.

Phase 10 is a good card game...it can get long. There is a shorter version but I don't remember exactly what it's called!

We also play Things and I just got the game Loaded Questions.

Think I'll buy Apples to Apples since everyone seems to like it.

I like Set, Yahtzee, and my neighbor taught me how to play dominoes. I used to play Sequence with the kids.

    What is Cranium like?

Cranium is fun in teams! You mold things out of clay...act out scenes...hum or whistle music...draw things like pictionary...
    So much fun!!!

I love board games!!! My husband and I have a group of couples we love to get together with once a month or so to play them...

Well... we USED to play Apples to Apples, Cranium, Taboo, Catch Phrase... and THEN someone got a Wii and most of our game night games involve Rockband or WiiTennis. Still fun, I suppose, but not as fun as old fashioned board games.

*Quick side note ~ Last year we had a "board game day" in my classroom and the children ere encouraged to bring in a board game or two to play w/ classmates... SOoooo many of them did not have a board game to bring in! It was doubtful a financial issue as they all informed me that, yes, they play games -- just on the PS3, XBox, etc!!!! :)

I did, however, have a competitive crew of boys at the back table playing Monopoly junior... it was hysterical.

    Apples to Apples

Blink (2 player ONLY and 2 minutes to play but addicting)

    Dominoes (the Train version)

a few other games were really fun at game night but I dont know their names...one we called "the bean game" and another was like a fairy tale game..but was a bunch of fun and it was only adults playing. Both were card games.

After spending a christmas day with my nieces who got ipod touches and cameras I definitely see a need for more board game nights for kids. I don't have any kids myself yet but I am going to make a point to make my kids a little weird with old fashioned toys so they are not so spoiled by the high tech toys of today.

Catchphrase is really fun. There are a group of 8 of us that when we get together...we all love to play it and it's so much fun.

I like it too because it's just an electronic small circular shaped thing...no cards, dice, board to deal with...just one thing!

I love Apples to Apples, Taboo, and Catchphrase...also Scattergories and Cranium.

If you like card/roleplaying type games (not sure how to classify it?) Guillotine is fun.

I got my BFF and her DH Funglish for Christmas, I'll give it to the New Years Eve, and we may see how that is.

I got Game of Things for Christmas and we loved it. We love apples to apples to to.

My sister got a game called Memory Madness for Christmas and it was a lot of fun. We also love Pictureka.

We have ALL of our old board games at my parents and we still drag them out regularly. My favorite is when my 2 sisters and I can convince my brother to play Mall Madness or Pretty Pretty Princess. lol. Getting new board games and playing them all day and night after Christmas dinner is our tradition.
