Three weeks ago a student accused me of physically harming him, a week later I was put on Administrative Leave with Pay. Tomorrow there is a district-wide open house for staff and students to get acquainted with their new schools because our boundaries are being redrawn this summer. I know I can't be on MY school campus, but does that apply to ALL the schools in the district?

I'm a SpEd Para, my teacher has signed a contract at another school and wants me to move with him. So he's asked if I might join him at his new school so he can introduce me to his principal and essentially say that we're a package deal. I just need to know if I'm even allowed to go to this thing.

    TIA

Not being an expert, I would say no. You should not plan on going there. You might want to verify with your union or human resources people.

I tried to verify with both but no one was answering phones and no one returned my call, either... .

Don’t go. Wait until the issue is resolved.

Don't go. Administrative leave means that essentially you don't work there for a little while. It would be inappropriate for you to go.

In my district, you definitely could not be on school property during the admin leave.

Good for you co-teacher for supporting you, but unfortunately, his new school may tell him they're not interested if you are attached--regardless of your innocence, they may not want to deal with it. Not sure about your district, but around here, it can take several months for decisions regarding Admin Leave to be made.
