Its as good as it is going to get as far as pictures go. I still need to tidy up, finish up my filing, organize teacher area again, organize reading table, create my Estimation Station, and label my centers.

I'll work really hard Mon & Tues when I get spare moments. Those are our work days and Open House is Tuesday night. First day for kids: Wed! I really want to be ready for Open House w/o feeling super stressed. Sorry if they're huge or not right or whatever...I'm a newbie at posting pics!

It's still a work in progress but yes I do have an area for that purpose. It doesn't show up in the pics but to the left of the smartboard is a tv & window. I put a study carrel there and that's its purpose. I have some stuffed animals, koosh balls, different textures, etc. I'll keep adding stuff as I can.

Wow, you still have a chalkboard! I haven't seen a room with one of those in years. We have had whiteboards because of chalk allergies.

It looks great. I love the flag on the window!

Could you sew a weighted lap pad? http://www.davidsblanket.com/downloads/Weighted-Blanket-or-Lap-Pad-Instructions.pdf here is a pattern, it can be filled with anything like corn, rice, sand, polly pellets etc.
Sometimes you can find fidget type toys on sale in the 25 cent toy party favor section in party city or the dollar section in target, or the dollar store. some inexpensive sensory fidgets that you may even have in your house:
    mini little slinky
    tangle jr.
    any kind of slime/putty/goop
    strechy animals
    silly putty eggs
    fun size play dough
little containers of floam (tiny, I found them at the Dollar tree once.)
beaded necklace, mardi gras beads, soft splash bomb pool toy ball (squishy and can be squeezed.)
A journal for the students to write in/draw in (crayons on sale now for 25 cents and spirals were on sale for 15 cents.)
