Does anyone teach this book? Next week I'll be starting at a new school with seniors and the English department head said this is what he's starting his seniors with after midterms. I know The Kite Runner is usually the more popular of the two to teach; does anyone have any good resources or links of where to look? So far I've been on webEnglishteacher and they only have information for his other book.

Thank you so much -- that's wonderful!! I have not actually read the book myself; just found out yesterday that I'll be teaching it. I did watch the movie for The Kite Runner for a literature/film class in college and it was very intense and disturbing... I can only imagine what this book might be like, then.

ps- I have a snow day, too! :)

I liked A Thousand Splendid Suns much better than The Kite Runner. I believe it could generate some great discussions about the roles of women in society. The ending is sad though.
