I work at a preschool, and we are currently in the process of implementing some new procedures due to changes in the leadership. Could someone give me some information about dibels? Is it a reading test? Thanks in advance for any help.

Yes, it is for reading, really letter and sound recognition, blending and segmenting at the K level. It is timed. I don't care for it.

I am in my first year of teaching K and will be using Dibels for reading assessment. I am nervous, as I have never done any of that type of assessing....only pre-K, colors, shapes....
Helpful hints from anyone using it? :)

It's very easy to give and it is scripted. You just read the instructions to the child and track their answers. Here is the official website and it gives you lots of info to familiarize yourself before you give the assessment
