Hello! I have to share my story (well the updates at least!) I got a job! I am so excited! Short version of a long story- I have interviewed with 7 districts and got called back to 2. The first one that called me back for a 2nd interview, different position than the first time we met, told me I was her 2nd choice and that she would keep me in mind if anything changed. She also asked me to sub in her building. Thought that is the last I would hear for this school year. I interviewed with other districts, a charter school, and completed my sub paperwork for my local district on Friday. Got home Friday morning from sub meeting to a voicemail from the Principal of the school that told me I as her 2nd choice. She was offering me a 1 year LTS position for a teacher that was moved to a new position. I accepted immediately. 4 Hours later I got a call from the charter offering me a position. You never know when things will take a sudden change. I never expected to get called by the school that I am teaching at. While I am nervous that it is a 1 year position, it is a foot in the door!! Always do your best at interviews and send thank you notes. Ask what you could do better. You never know when a P will need to fill a position and you want your name to stick out. It is what got me my job!
Congrats! I'm assuming you took the charter school position and not the long term one?? Good luck! How exciting!
I took the LTS position because I didn't know the charter was offering me a position- they called me later in the day. The LTS could become a permanent position after this year and it is going to be a big retirement year in our state. I took the job at the school I fell in love with.
