It seems, the parents don't want any more cards.
Hoot, that message brought tears to my eyes. I'm going to talk to my co-teacher about doing this too.
This is a local news story here.
Today the family received 3000 cards. They have volunteers who are helping to handle this massive volume of mail.
During the last few days of their son's life, the family is asking that people NOT SEND ANY MORE CARDS to their home.
They are asking that people donate to hospice care, that they are using at this time. (I believe it is with Nationwide Children's Hospital, here in Columbus.)

doh! and I just had all of my kids at school..close to 700 make cards for him. I can understand their wishes...but now I don't know what to do with them? Suggestions?

Sadly, Nathan passed away on Friday, February 26th.

Are you willing to send overseas? Any orphanage would love to get cards for their kids
My school did this last December. I can't remember who we sent them to, but I think his name was Evan.
Nathan Elfrick... he passed away Feburay 26. My heart is broken for his parents and other family members.
Check out www.makeachildsmile.org. They feature new kids each month who have various illnesses and could use cheering up. Another great class project!
