I'm a first year SpEd teacher who has begun the job search for a better fitting school. I have an upcoming demo lesson. It's 8th grade Social Studies, on any topic I'd like. It's also only 20 minutes which has me panicking, as I don't know what objective I can really meet in just 20 minutes!

I was thinking something on immigration, perhaps analyzing primary sources. But I'm unsure!

I'm so nervous about this, I can't think of any lesson god enough that'd be "good enough" to get me a job!

Find something comparing/contrasting two different primary sources. Make sure to have the 'students' talk and mark the text and come to a conclusion at the end.

    Perspectives

I like the idea of comparing sources.. Can you find two sources on same topic but different perspective and have them analyze the perspective? Or maybe analyzing the viewpoints on immigration from the past to views today?

    Good luck!
