I was wondering what are some things that you have planned for those last few days of school? I know one day we are doing a field day and we are currently wrapping up some Great Mail Race Writing Activities, but I need I guess more fillers to make it through the end of the year. Last year we had state testing and were done the following week. They extended our year so I am running out of activities.
This year I'm going to my class write letters to next year's 3rd graders about what to expect in 3rd grade. The kiddos next year can read them on the first day. Last year I even had the kids come visit and my kids gave them a tour of the classroom and then they did buddy reading together. Even if you don't know which kids you're getting next year it's fun at the end of the year to buddy up with a younger class for activities. We shared our writing pieces together. The kids had a lot of fun.
I have 5 days left with kids. 7 days total (2 work days after). I'm so ready to be done! We had 5 snow days this year and the kids have been done for awhile. I'm kind of treating this week like a review. The kids get to choose their favorite music activities from the year. We make a list and try to do as many as we can. After having today off, I just don't feel like going back especially since I have to do the Talent Show on Friday too. I'm ready for a break!
I do like that idea about the letters! I already know the kids I am getting we only have 1 class per grade level. I already know the kids pretty well So I think I will definitely try that.
I am going to do a sports day like I did last year. The students can wear their favorite team jersey. We will be able to locate the cities/states they are from. I am also going have activities inside and outside related to the different sports. I know we are going to have a field day that the parents are pretty much in charge of. I think we might even do a movie day one day. I just know my kids are done at this point.
7 Days left Septembers here and in 26 days and Dave,Eddie and Alex will perform together live for the first time in 23 years. I cant wait for the first videos to show up on you tube. Are there still rumors of them doing a suprise performance at the MTV Awards?
