Got my first teaching job and they want me to cover PreHistory to the Fall of the Roman Empire in the entire Year. I personally feel this is not enough subject matter for the grade level unless you go extremely in depth. Which I also believe majority of 6th graders do not have the brain capacity for such an endeavor since I learned this subject matter in a 12 week class and not the entire school year. Thoughts/Opinions as well as resources would be greatly appreciated.
