    Hi,
This is my first year teaching 6th grade.

I am looking to see what is being used to initial assess reading levels and comprehension at the beginning of the year and periodically during the year to show growth.
It would be great if it was some kind of digital assessment, because my class is one to one with Chromebooks.

I used the DRA program before and also Renaissance's STAR assessment.

    Any suggestions would be great.

I use Renaissance's STAR, QRI Qualitative Reading Assessment, and San Diego Quick.

Our school has a number of options including Renaissance. Easycbm has a free membership that allows for several assessment types at each grade level, and ActivelyLearn has an option to upload your own content to create assessments. The advantage here is that the sites can do much of the grading for you, and assessments can be used each year without reinventing the wheel.
