How do you guys get your parents to order that many $ worth of books? Last year, I only sent in two orders and on both of them, I had to buy some books just to make sure we have the $20 to required to order online!

Last year I had enough orders for 6000 bonus points. That wasn't an offer on my September Arrow catalog this year. I had over $200 in orders, but I offered 4 catalogs this 1st time so no catalog had $200 on it's own.

I sent mine home on Thursday night when the parents came for curriculum night. I set up online ordering for two flyers. I have nothing yet and I set the deadline for September 15. I hope I get some orders.

Goop- it has to be 200 on each catalog? That stinks.

well; I received my bonus point items last week...AWESOME stuff! The alphabet & number puzzles are very sturdy and beautiful. I also ordered the Eric Carle's The Very Hungry Butterfly & Caterpillar puppets, so pretty and huge!
They also have nice big area rugs and just so many other goodies!! You will have to go to the online site to see the stuff. You should have received a catalog within your flyer package.

I guess they've fallen on hard times too... last year they offered 10,000 pts for each September Catalog... netted me 20,000 from Arrow and Click.

I was wondering...do you think it would be worth it to spend $200 myself to get those points?

I thought it was worth it for 10,000 points. I think the IMac was 35,00 points last year, so that was good bang for the buck. But with fewer points and raising the cost of the bonus items I think not. Unless it's a few bucks to push it over the edge.

So far, I've got half of that...and I'm wondering if I should even pay half to get to $200. I'm not financially able to right now; so I'll probably pass, but I could get more orders in the next few days.

Laura Candler has some good tips for getting up to $200...offer the online ordering, because most parents will order more with a credit card at home, and only send one catalog at a time.

I agree with the one catalog idea. I sent home 4 and got over $300 in orders, but none more than $150, so I didn't get the huge amount of bonus points offered. I'm only sending one next time...and I can still get 2000 bonus points for $200!

I use FIREFLY. I'm assuming that all of their catalogs (this month only) has the same offer:

CLASS ORDER TOTAL: YOU EARN BONUS POINTS: YOUR EARNED $

    $200 or more 20x $30

Bummer, I called Scholastic this afternoon and the rep. told me it wasn't for See Saw or Lucky. :( Thanks so much for responding.

Last year my first order was $181!!! I was so tempted to spend just $19 more of my own money, but I didn't. I STILL kick myself for that choice!

I've never actually ordered from the catalog. I like using bonus points to buy books on CD, dollar books to pass out for birthdays, and multiple copies of lower-leveled books for guided reading. I have a pretty good-sized collection thanks to bonus points!

Now, that's not right. I am holding my September SeeSaw flier that clearly states on the front 20x Bonus Points for orders over $200 and you earn $30 to spend yourself.
