    Hi!
I had an interview (Screening) last Thursday. They called me back on Friday morning asking me back for a second which was on this Monday. Then today (Tuesday) I got called back for a 3rd interview for tomorrow and it is with the superintendent. The woman I spoke with today (the one doing the scheduling) told me the interviews were every 15 minutes. Making me believe my interview would only be 15 minutes?? If so- what could the superintendent ask? I hope I have this job- this is the third time I am there and the third outfit I had to buy! Lol. I am grateful though. It is for an Autistic Support Elementary position in a very nice SD. I am nervous- I wonder if there are many others up for the same position? I know that someone took the 1 and 1:15 appts. I think that is what I heard her say- UNLESS one is at 1:15 and then the next would be me at 1:45. I know I am over-analyzing!
Does anyone know why a superintendent would want to interview a teacher for a position? Usually that is for someone going for a higher position I thought?
It is a contracted position- I left another contracted position due to lack of support throughout the whole district in Special Education for the kids, parents, and teachers involved.
If you have any thoughts, advice, or ideas (please positive- it has been a ROUGH week- car accident after the first interview...blah!) and I need positive/constructive information.
    Thanks for your time!
    :)

It may just be that the super likes to know all the people that work for him. When I was an ed tech at a district I was sent over to meet with the super. I thought I for sure wasn't going to get the job after meeting him. He asked strange questions. Like how are you going to afford to live in this town, you won't be making enough money. He also went over salary and benefits. I don't remember what else it was 3 yrs ago.

Remember just because the Super is interviewing you.. that doesn't mean the person in front of you or behind you are even there for the same position!! It could just be "formality". Let us know how it goes!

It's summer; he may be doing the interviews because the others are still on break.

And don't stress about the others up for the same job. You can't do anything about them. Just go in there and knock 'em dead! Be sure they know that YOU'RE the right one for the job.

I too interviewed twice with the principal and then she told me she was going to send me over to the superintendent for a meeting. Well, I spoke with her on the phone a few days later and she told me it was an interview with him because she only recommends for the hiring, the superintendent does the actual hiring. He asked about 4-5 questions (I can't remember them now of course) and then he too offered me the position. It all lasted about 15 minutes (after waiting 1/2 hour)!

    Thank-you! To all of you!!!!!
This brings my spirits up so much. I had more bad news about the whole car accident situation and I just needed to hear news like this. They asked me to bring my originals of everything- so I hope I am getting this one-
    :)
Thanks for the support and I look forward to chatting with all of you!

In my last school district the interview with the super was the job offer, you met with him and some board memebers they talked about salary asked about 4 questions offered the job and off you went to go sign your contract. I hope this is the case for you, I think my last super interview was about 20 minutes also, as I was told inteh district that hired me this year, was that the principals cannot formally offer you the job HR had to in my ,last district the principal could not offer me the job the Super had to. So here is hoping fo rthe best, I think it is great news to get an interview with a Super.

We have a district over in our area in which the Super, interviews the sub's too! I want to try this district this year, so we shall see. I guess Super's are getting in on all levels, sounds great.

    Good luck to you!

It is also common in my area for Superintendents to do interviews--sometimes they even observe a demo lesson. I have a feeling this is a VERY GOOD thing for you...just a formality, and probably some general questions. It would be good to know something about the district--what you like about it, what you hope to bring to the district, etc. Those other appointments COULD be for the same position, but likely, this is a "rounding up" of all tentative new hires. Please keep us posted! And Good Luck!!

My super does the final interview in my district. Usually its just a formality, such as it was for me when I got my job. He actually told me to relax and that I had the position already. The new super is tougher on candidates, but they rarely say no to a candidate. Good luck and keep us posted!!!! :)

    Thank-you everyone!

I am in Bucks county and the job is in Montgomery. My first teaching job was in Lehigh County.

We celebrated! Went to a restaurant called Iron Hill Brewery and went to Maggie Moo's for ice cream!

    Thanks again to everyone.

    :)

Can you let me know what your interview/meeting was like? What questions were you asked? I have a meeting with the super tomorrow and starting to get nervous!
