Finished my 32nd year Friday and the 5thgrade was boohooing. One macho boy (basically Dennis the Menace) was crying like a baby, told me he would miss me the most. I gave the 5th grade donuts and OJ for breakfast. They were a great class and good leaders for me. Going to Flagler Beach after post planning for a few days and then it is daddy most of the summer.
Wow! You had a boy crying? Even my 1st grade boys don't cry. They always act so happy for the summer, and as though they won't miss me. You must be an awesome teacher! And, congratulations on completing your 32nd year.
Sometimes it feels tiring but I keep exercising with my kids in PE and then at home. I held an archery tournament the last day (after the faculty vs 5th grade in softball) and my crier won it. He also won the Pres. Phys Fitness Award. We said goodbye yesterday at our end of the year lunch to a lady that beats me by a mile. She began teaching K in 72 and pretty much at my one small school. She ended it yesterday. She was a reading coach the last few years but still could have done the k class. I spoke at lunch and saluted her service and excellence.
