During the 3 wks between the 2 holidays, do you usually get a lot of subbing assignments?

So far, I'll only have 2 days of work. :(

I'm home sick today--apparently there are 4 subs (including mine) in the building today. I'll also need subs for 3 half days in the next two weeks for meetings and trainings I need to attend. I could probably predict that there will be at least a couple of subs in our building every day in the next 3 weeks.

My last year of subbing, I got a TON of work at my favorite school during that time. A terrible case of the flu ripped through the English and Special Education departments, and I was their go-to for both.

This was always my busiest time when I subbed. Teachers take days to go shopping, bugs hit and there is always a need for subs for that.

My school charges double personal days for those attached to vacations. However, we had a ton of subs last week and this week looks to be no different. Hope you get some jobs!

I am booked every day this week except for tomorrow.

I am concerned, however about the next two weeks because the one district keeping me busy has parent conferences for two weeks starting next Monday.

It will be great if I work because all classes get out at least an hour early for these two weeks. However, my chances of working are far less since teachers will not be out as much for conferences.

Last week, I got two days and I canceled one and so worked 1 day - I was way too busy. For next week, I have 1 day so far. I took it only so that the system won't stop calling me.

No additional jobs for me yet. :( I have 7 days to fill up before the pay period ends. This is for the Jan paycheck.

    Thanks Joyful!

Of the 10 teachers in my department, three were off this past week which is definitely higher than usual. Combination of days off for shopping and sick kids at home.

Hopefully you can fill those vacant 7 days.

Usually, no. Last year, I had maybe 4 or 5 days. It's hard just before breaks and right after them.

I've had several teachers out at a couple of schools I sub for a lot, so I'll be working consistently for the next few weeks.

Best wishes to all the subs out there. I hope you all get as many assignments as you can.

A lot of schools too, schedule parent-teacher conferences in the time before Winter Break. That being the case, I envision less opportunities to sub... though frankly, I can't recall (past years... I think I got work).
