So you seriously never know, and cannot possibly predict what will happen with job hunting and interviewing. I interviewed for a teaching position over 6 weeks ago in my dream school (The school I attended as a child, and a school that is only 3 minutes from my house.) I spent over an hour in the interview and left feeling SOO good about the interview..

Well..then 6 weeks pass by and I automatically feel like..well..i'm obviously ruled out. She had told me that I wouldn't hear for a while and not to get freaked out, because she interviewed me because I was in town from out of state, and she was not going to be able to interview other candidates for a few more weeks.

Well, she called this morning and said she is still very interested and would like to set up a second interview for next Friday at 2pm with me (Now i have to wait 2 more weeks, JUST FOR THE interview!!) There are 2 open positions for the 1st grade opening that I applied for. How many people do you think make it through to the "2nd interviews"? She did first interviews all last week...

I'm curious how many competitors I will have at this point hahaaaaa....and what can I expect from a second interview?! I'm scared!! I've never gone through this exact process before or gone through THIS much for a teaching job!!!!

My last two teaching jobs were just interview=job...very quick and done. (I relocated for those jobs..and now i'm back to my hometown and ready for LONG term...) So i'm crossing my fingers for this!!!!!!!!!!!!

That is good to know. I interviewed at a school six weeks ago as well and they seemed to really like me but I've heard nothing back from them. Well I did call them about a month ago and the P said he had not forgotten about me and they were waiting on the school board to approve hiring new teachers. Well, they've had two positions open up and I've let them know that I'm still available and interested. This gives me hope!

Good luck!!! I hope these next couple of weeks fly by for you!

Good Luck! I interviewed about 4ish times with the school district I accepted. The first was a prelim interview with HR (Basic, standard questions), second was with principal and team (more about how I structure things, my sort of philosophy, etc.) third with an upper HR person and then lastly with the super. I'm not sure what your interview will be like...but good luck!
