I got the job at the school I was a long term sub at from January to May, and I taught summer school. I definitely had my foot in the door. It is a small school and the only school in the district so I knew everyone! I'm already on this list once, but I'm super happy to say that I've found a job closer to home and will be taking that one instead. It's not my dream job, but it's a start, it's close to home (something that was important to us), there's lots of room to move around later, and it's better paying (which is a plus because now it's my husband's turn to go back to school so we'll be mostly living on my salary).
