I made a little thread about this earlier, but I wanted to share here! Next year I will be an assistant principal at a middle school in my district! I'm so excited to start this new adventure.
If anyone would like to teach agriculture education in Oklahoma, I have it on good authority that they will give emergency certification this year. There is a major shortage.

As of last night the school board voted and I can officially spill the beans... What grade and/or subject? 4th How long have you been trying? Began my credential program in January and began applying in hopes of somewhere hiring an intern in April-ish. How many resumes did you send out? I applied for every 2nd-6th job opening in my district and almost every one posted within a 45 minute commute. (I knew that, being an intern, it was a long shot, and I couldn't afford to be picky if I wanted out of my current career so I could focus on teaching and not have to work AND student teach AND go to school.) How many interviews or job fairs? 4 interviews between 3 schools, and 1 job fair where I have 5-7 interviews. What general geographic area? California I am excited, yet terrified. I student taught for 1 semester (about 180 hours in the classroom), but never had 100% of the class and lesson planning and such...

I'm leaving my current position as a second grade teacher. I'm moving to a district much closer to my house. I will be a 3rd grade title 1 reading teacher. I started sending out resumes in April, interviewed for a different position, and did not get the job. Applied for a different position in May, had 2 interviews, and today a job offer. I am in SouthEastern Ohio.
What: 3rd ELA/SS How long have I been trying: Since before graduation in May How many resumes did you send out?: I filled out lots of district apps, applied to many positions, and emailed at least 30 principals How many interviews: Got it after my 2nd ever interview! They only met with me once and let me know 2 days later! It still felt like I was on the hunt forever because no one ever responded to applications I submitted or resumes I sent until I started pursuing this district. It's a tough district to get into, too, so I feel very lucky!
What grade and/or subject? Kindergarten! How long have you been trying? I just graduated in May with my bachelors. How many resumes did you send out? Too many to count, I applied at over 20 schools! I started applying and watching job boards since March. How many interviews or job fairs? 2 job fairs, 1 large district screening interview, 2 actual interviews. One I found out later that day that they were not interested (I knew this after leaving the interview - didn't feel a good connection!) The other interview, I was told at that interview that she wanted a second interview from me with the K team, and a few days after that interview I was hired! What general geographic area? Illinois
