Hi, Everyone! It's that time of year when I'm trying to find some great songs to play with my end of year slideshow. I picked one new song: Unconditionally by Katy Perry. What are some songs you are going to use, or love to use, in your end-of-year wrap-ups?
I Can Tell That We Are Going to Be Friends by The White Stripes What a Wonderful World by Joey Ramone
In the past I've used Rascal Flatts' "My Wish" and "The Time of Our Lives" by Tyrone Wells. With the Kinders I like "Let Them Be Little" by Lonestar. This year I am going to use the Friends one that Sarge suggested only the version by one of the singers on the voice Caroline Pennell.
Pretty much any song from jack Johnson's Curious George soundtrack. Black Bird by Sarah Maclaclan (I know that's not spelled correctly). Don't Worry Be Happy You've got a Friend in me from Toy Story I Hope You Dance by Leann Womack The River by Garth Brooks The Little Light of Mine by Addison Road or Elizabeth Mitchell You Make Me Smile by Uncle Kracker Lean on Me ABC by Jackson Five You're Gonna Miss This by Trace Adkins I Wish For You by Jessica Andrews I do a slideshow every year for my kinder graduation for the past seven years and those are some of the songs I used.
I usually download popular songs from Kidz Bop CD's. Some I used in the past were... Good Time Party Rock Anthem Firework Live While We're Young I Gotta Feeling Billionaire The Edge of Glory Some of those are getting a bit dated so I'll have to see what new songs they put out this year. It's just easier to use Kidz Bop in addition to cutting out the dirty language they get rid of any sexual innuendos too. School doesn't end for me until like June 26th so I'll start sometime in May.
My situation is different, but I have used: I Will Remember You - Sarah McLachlan These Are Days - 10,000 Maniacs For Good - Wicked So Fresh and So Clean - Outkast (inside joke with one of my casts...)
Time of your life by Green Day (delete the intro!) These are the days by The Calling Forever Young by Rod Stewart
I've been thinking of using this version in my video this year, too. I used the original version last year. Last year I also used: "You've Got a Friend in Me" from Toy Story "Shooting Star" by Owl City (LOVE this one!) "When Can I See You Again?" by Owl City (from Wreck it Ralph) This year I think I will use: "Happy" by Pharrell Williams (Cza mentioned) "Everything is Awesome" from the Lego Movie...maybe. I wish I could start making my end of the year video, LOL. We still have until June 27!
I need to remember to find this thread in June when I'm actually making our movie. (I used imovie last year it came out so great- allowed me to use photos and videos)
Based on all the great ideas above, I've been searching around and found: Do I Make You Proud by Taylor Hicks and Now and Forever by Carole King. Thanks! Keep them coming
I do our 5th grade graduation slide show and am always looking for new songs. Two of the ones I'm using this year are "Best Day of My Life' and "Happy". In past years I've used, "Man in the Mirror", "Now and Forever", "Do I Make you Proud", "Wherever I Go", "'The Climb", "Fireflies. "One Step at a Time" and "Heal the World." Thanks for the posting. I'm hoping for some other new ideas
I just found one called "I Was Here"-there are many different versions-one from Beyonce, one from the cast of Glee and the one I'm going to use is Lady Antebellum. I think it's a perfect fit for my group this year.
"Somebody" from Lemonade Mouth is a really good one. When I student taught in 6th grade, they used it for their graduation song. (K-6 school).
"On my Way" by Phil Collins from the Brother Bear soundtrack is a great ending song. If you really want people to cry "Say Goodbye" by Skillet will do the job. I also like to use This is Home by Switchfoot though I typically use it earlier in the year.
Here's a good one! Count on Me by Bruno Mars. I'm going to use it this year along with "I Love to See You Smile" by Randy Newman.
