Fianlly!! After several months of searching I was finally offered a 1st grade teaching position!! This is my second year of searching! Last year I manage to find two part-time positions in one school hoping to get my foot in the door! Well it worked until we had to relocate from VA to CO!! I am so excited, this is my first teaching position!!! :woot:

I can't believe I finally get to do this thing! I received my job offer while I was on vacation to Cedar Point, so it was pretty surreal to disembark a rollercoaster to a job offer, ha. Also the voicemail I got totally started out sounding like a breaking-it-to-you-gently kind of rejection, so I was completely blown away when it turned into an offer! What grade and/or subject? Middle school social studies and writing! It'll be 6th & 7th grade social studies and 6th, 7th, & 8th grade writing. I sign my contract on Wednesday, and I'm really, really excited to be back in middle school. How long have you been trying? I've been looking for a full-time position for two years (last year I ended up with a maternity leave)...I'd say I probably fully committed to looking for something for the 2013-14 school year in around May. How many resumes did you send out? I didn't keep an exact count, but this year alone, I probably applied for 200+ positions How many interviews or job fairs? One job fair, six interviews (it also took me six interviews to get my temporary position last year, so apparently six is my lucky number!) What general geographic area? Chicago
