It's beautiful! I really like how you tied ribbon or fabric through the tops of the crates. How did you cut out the letters on several of the posters? I'm going to guess Cricut. I wish I had one.
Thanks everyone! The fabric and the crates is from Pinterest. I wish I'd thought of that on my own! All the lettering was printed on my Cricut using the Simply Sweet cartridge.
One trick I learned was to print letters on 8.5" by 11" scrapbook paper. In a word document, set your font to outline only and really large.
I want to be a kid in your class! Love how organized and neat everything is. Even got some ideas for my own. Thanks so much for sharing!
I recently purchased a Silhouette Cameo and have LOVED using it for teaching, most commonly the "Print & Cut" feature. It's been a godsend!
I'm still trying to figure out how often I want to do Homeworkopoly. I'm worried that if I only do it on Friday, than they'll lose some motivation with it. However, if I do it daily, I feel like that may be too much to handle each morning. So, I'm not quite sure yet. Thanks for the kind comments everyone! I also added pictures to my first post of my Daily 5 posters and fixed the Sentence Fluency part of my writing board.
I read somewhere that the teacher used the homeworkopoly twice a week, randomly -- which motivated her kids because they never knew when she'd be doing it and they had to have all their stuff in when it was time. I LOVE your classroom, I am probably going to steal some ideas for my own!
EiffelTower, Can I ask where you got your writing process cards? I've been wanting some like this but haven't had time to make myself: did you purchase somewhere (aka is there a download I can buy?)? Thanks!
I made them myself. I was having problems with Word, so I was only able to save the publishing page. I don't know why it was giving me so many problems. I'm sorry!
No worries, I will keep looking and/or get to making my own! I just like the design of yours. Great job!
Beautiful and so colorful. Homeworkopoly looks amazing! I love owls, but want to share a funny story! Most of the students at our school are Apache and they are very superstitious when it comes to owls. They believe they are bad luck. We had a new teacher a few years ago who decorated her whole room with owls not realizing!! It took a few months before one of the students asked her to take them down!
