Kessy and Ross are not making friends with the officials.... Uh-oh.

Those girls from the Czech Republic are gorgeous (beach volleyball).

Lochte should go find them for one of his 'one night stands'

Yeah Beezie was eliminated yesterday! What a shocker that was! I had a horse that liked to refuse, he was about the only one that got smacked. My horsey gets smacked when he feels the need to get mouthy about getting girthed. Mostly in dressage though we use a lot of little taps, especially when teaching movements.

I bet he was so mad at himself later. Just not a good show.

    They won!
I would like nothing more than a Kessy/Ross vs. May/Walsh final!!!

Although, Kessy is being a bit diva-ish with the cold feet. No one else has been whining (to my knowledge).

dgp~I wanted to start dressage and jumping at one point. I don't know if I'd ever do dressage, but definitely thinking of getting into jumping now!

giraffe~glad to hear they won! And I'm hoping for a US final too! And I don't know what is up with that, but I did hear that she had to take a 5 minute medical time out the other night because it was so cold on her toes/feet.

They say that the sand is cold and wet 2-3 inches down. I get that. However, no one else is complaining!!

I can't get in to the horses, y'all. :( BUT I'm ready for the track and field races tonight.

Is it too soon to say I miss the male swim team?

Oh, and you can tell that track and field started. Jamaica and Kenya are on the medal board.

Great Britian seems to be having a better than usual Olympics. They are still in 3rd! Now, if we could only distance ourselves from that pesky China......

These stories about the other athletes who just don't get sponsors because they aren't in the "glamor" sports is so sad and frustrating. Our female weight lifter is talking about having to get food from the food bank (RECENTLY!). She said, "I'd rather be an Olympian and be poor than sit behind a desk all day. I want to be extraordinary."

I can rarely get into track and field, so the Olympics are winding down for me

I miss the male swim team, too.

    *sniff*

China... I won't say too much bad about them because they do have the market on pandas. ;)

I think they're doing a post Olympic tour when they get back. I saw NC on the list. The Texas event was too far away. :(

    It is very sad.

They did a thing on gymnastics earlier today about Olga Korbut and how she turned gymnastics into a popular sport in Berlin.

They just seem to be good at everything. They have the population AND the money (unlike India who just has the population)

It's sad that some Olympians have to live like that just to chase their dream.

I'm going to miss the swimming too. I'll continue to watch it every day, but track and field just doesn't hold a lot of interest for me.

Tonight should be interesting with diving, gymnastics, and beach volleyball though.

Is it bad that I just want to lead China in medals after we're finished here?

Practically half the swim team is from NC. I think at LEAST 5 or 6. There is always a 'local athletes' section on the local news.

(I know 5 or 6 is not practically half, but it feels that way when they talk on the news  )

I think it's Dallas, STG! Close enough for you. You might have a house guest... (and I mean me, not Lochte. Well, hopefully both!) LOL!

I loved that interview with Phelps :) They have aired bits and pieces, but that was the first time I saw the whole thing.

And, since we miss our team so badly, here: (except whoever drew this got the wrong guy!!)

I didn't notice how low his shorts were until after I posted it. Is that a tattoo (Olympic rings, I think) on his right leg (groin, really)?

giraffe~I've seen that same 'tattoo' on a lot of our athletes. I don't know if it's a real tat or just a temp one.

Yeah, that's their real tattoos. Lochte's is on his forearm, and he's had it done twice (the yellow faded after a few years the first time around). Phelps is on his hip bone, and he had it done right before 2008, I think.

And as for hurdling... are you kidding me?! What are these chicks doing?! Not that I could do *any* of these sports!

I know many of them have real tattoos. A lot of swimmers (Lochte included) have them on their arms.

Got it. Right hip is the M (he went to the University of Michigan- too bad we never ran into each other) and his left hip is the Olympic rings.

    That's cool about their tattoos.

band~I would have better luck with some...but hurdling would not be one of them!

I want to know who the hand belongs to, too! (j/k- it is my hand)

I would feel like a giant perv if I have posted the actual picture

    And thanks :)
