(I have a new part time retail job. I get to quit my old one :woot: [I have hated it every day for 3 years.] So I DID get a new job this year, it was just the wrong one )
Well, I guess I should add mine. I went in for a second interview on August 16th for a SPED Teacher's Aide position working with students with emotional and behavioral disorders. It was between me and 2 other people. Afterwards, I felt like the interview went well. They said they would call back candidates the next day, Friday, Aug. 17th. They called Friday morning to tell me I had gotten the position! School started Wed. of this past week. Monday and Tuesday was spent filling out HR paperwork, meeting the SPED teacher and the other aide and all kinds of other busywork. Let's just say it's been a whirlwind first week, lol. I'm glad to get it over with! It's not the actually SPED teaching position that I wanted, but it at least gets my foot in the door and the SPED teacher I'm working with says he would like to have me help with IEP's and such. So, I think in addition to a job, it's also going to be a great learning opportunity. I got very lucky as well because this is a great school district. The second largest in the state and they have a great reputation with great benefits. So I am definitely blessed.

Georgia I was actually offered a job last year but did not get approved by the Board because they had surplus teachers that would have been laid off!

I just popped all of the names into a spreadsheet and told it to alphabetize them. When doing so, I found out (at least according to what was on the most updated list) we're only at 138. Still an amazing number though for sure!
I'm so excited! I've been back in the U.S. for a little over a month now, but began looking while I was still overseas. I sent out hundreds of resumes in CT and NH and luckily had quite a few interviews. For some reason even though I was complimented during or after a couple of the interviews, it just wasn't the right job. So I decided to check out North Carolina because I have heard great things about the state from friends who have gone down there. Literally, it's been a week and a half since I started looking and now I will be heading down to teach Kindergarten! School started today so I have to get a move on it! :-D

I am so happy I made it to this thread! Only 2 days before school starts and my first contract teaching position. 7th grade English Language Arts 2.5 years since I've gotten certified At least 100 and about 40 this summer. 1 job fair and 3 interviews this summer Washington state
