Hiiiiiiiii! I'm so excited because I just got hired today!! I can hardly believe it still but i'm ecstatic to have been given this opportunity It will be a part time kindergarten position at a private school! How long i've been trying: I graduated in 2008 but i've been officially been trying since this past May. ( I was working at a learning center since graduation) Hom many resumes: I went to about 30 schools so about 30 resumes!! I spent alot of time at kinkos! How many interviews: I went on 2 interviews and I got my job offer after the 2nd one! What general geographic area: West Texas where it's almost impossible to find anything!! What grade/subject: Kindergarten!

How long have you been trying? Since April How many resumes did you send out? Too many to count...applied to about 25 different districts around the state. How many interviews or job fairs? 4 interviews and 4 job fairs. Without the job fair I wouldn't have gotten the interview. It was my first job fair ever and the second school I talked to at the fair that I landed the position with. The job also came from the 1st teaching interview I ever had. What general geographic area? DFW, TX And of course what grade and/or subject? 5th Math/Science
I was offered a position! I had to do the last interview on the phone while on vacation, but it was worth it. So while I still need to fly back to Texas and take care of paperwork, I think I can consider myself employed for the school year. I'll be in Houston teaching high school Social Studies. How long have you been trying? Since April 2009, while I was student teaching. How many resumes did you send out? About 60+ last year, and another 40 this year. How many interviews or job fairs? 2 job fairs, 6 interviews (3 alone with Houston.) What general geographic area? Last year it was NJ, PA, MD, and TX. This year I pulled out all stops and applied all over the country. And of course what grade and/or subject? Social Studies 9-12. I'll receive my official assignment in the next few weeks.

I am finally off the Roller Coaster! Whoo-Hoo!!! How long looking... since March. How many job fairs/interviews... 3 job fairs, 3 HR screenings interviews, Two 1st round interviews, One 2nd round interview (not for the position I got!) and then the offer!!! What position... 4th grade. Where... NoVa! (Northern Virginia) Now... I have 7 1/2 weeks to get my house on the market, find a new house, move from Maryland, and settle my kids into a new school. Oh... and did I mention I leave for our (already paid for) vacation on Saturday! So really I have 6 weeks! :2up:
