Hi everyone! It has been a long time since I have been on a to z, and I have missed you guys.

    :0)

I have a favor to ask. I need a theme for my classroom next year... My room this year was "Mrs. K's Corral -

I am looking for another "K" sound - one suggestion from a colleague was Mrs. K's Carnival, but I don't want to go that route.

So, if you wouldn't mind, I would love suggestions! Thanks in advance!
    appreciate you all!

    Cafe maybe?

It would give you the opportunity to have coffee in your classroom everyday. :)

I Like cafe and kingdom....I am not sure if I could use Kingdom because we are a Christian school and associate "kingdom" with the Kingdom of God....so not sure, I like the idea of princesses and dragons, etc. just not sure how that would go over with some parents. ya know?

Cavernous Jungle!!!! Just so you can have palm trees and monkeys. A teacher at my school did this and went All. Out. Everything was lime green, brown, and yellow. She had life-size trees, monkeys, bananas hanging from the ceiling......I'm really obsessed with her room.

Edit: And then they laid her off. FAIL.

    Mrs. K's Tollhouse (not a K but it's a restaurant we have here...lol!!)

I actually did Carnival one year (my last name starts with C) and it actually worked pretty good. Had Ticket name tags, did roller coaster graphing, and jelly bean estimating...just a thought!!

How about Campers? You could do a camping theme with a little tent for a cozy reading spot, a campfire ring for your meeting place, etc...
    Welcome to Camp K!

I do like canker sores, but I like Killer Bees better. I bet with a theme like that your class could dominate at Field Day.

so, I am thinking it will either be Mrs. K's castle or Mrs. K's Kitchen.

The welcome bboard for Kitchen could be something like " We are cooking up a great year of learning!"

For Castle - maybe " Welcome to an enchanted year of learning"....idk just brainstorming

Even though you are at a Christian school, I think you could make Kingdom work. They are Kingdom Kids, after all, right? You could explain the Heavenly Kingdom and you have a pretend classroom Kingdom. You could have fiefdoms and manors and really get into the Castle theme. I think if you present it as you mean it, you would not have a problem.

As to canker sores, I see some definite possibilities with Science integration :lol::lol::lol:.
