Had an interview on the 18th of May (I think it went well) the principal said it could take around two weeks to hear an answer. TWO WEEKS! That is going to drive me crazy. I mailed a brochure along with my thank you letter so they wouldn't forget me or my skill sets. Has this happened to anyone? Did you end up with a job offer? I'm feeling anxious due to the long wait:help:

That is a long time, but its not out of line with what the other posters on here have said before.

I was on an interview committee a few weeks ago. We called the person we selected about an hour after all the interviews were had. When I got my job at this school they did the same thing for me. I guess it just depends on the district.

This time of year is very hectic for school administrators. Two weeks is not that long for them to schedule all the interviews.

Find something to take your mind off the aggravating anticipation of the wait (easier said than done!) Apply for other openings, take up a new hobby, read a few good books, whatever you can do to make yourself less nervous.

That does sound like a long timeline, but I'm glad he told you that so you're not sitting around waiting for the phone to ring. I definitely agree that you should continue your job search while you wait. Do not sit around waiting on this job. See what else is out there in the meantime.

I just want went for a preliminary interview and they said I'd hear back about a second interview before the school year was over. That's THREE weeks!

I waited 3 weeks to hear back about my first job. I got the job and it took so long because there were a lot of political things that had to be taken care of.

Thanks everyone, I am very fortunate because I've already been offered a job in another district. If it doesn't work out I still have something lined up. I really want this one because it's closer to home

2 weeks is nothing! I interviewed for an internal position, it took about 2 -3 weeks to hear from my P that I got the position, another week or 2 after that before HR formally gave me the position. Then because it was mid-year, almost another month before I actually started the position.

Update: I had to wait 2 weeks and 1 day. They left me a voicemail and said I didn't get it. It stings the ego a little bit, but at least I already have an offer somewhere else :(

Many would be happy just to get a definitive answer, so even if not the answer you wanted, it is closure.

Jobs here must be posted for 30 days before hiring, but we can interview before then.
