Any grade 3 teachers celebrating 100 day? It seems to be a K-2 thing, but I would like to celebrate with my class!

We'll graph 100 jelly beans, and do some sort of writing "I wish I had 100..."

Any great ideas/books that work well with this age group?

I am a third grade teacher, too, and we don't usually do much. Maybe 100 math problems (real fun for the kids...whoo hoo...) so I am also anxious to hear what other teachers in third grade or higher do with their students!

A 100 Object Project is always a hit!!! Have the kids collect 100 small items at home then bring them in and have them glue the items on poster board or construction paper in groups. So this is how you incorporate the math, have them sort them in 10 groups of 10, 5 groups of 20, 4 groups of 25 or 2 groups of 50. Either way they will see all the ways to make 100. Totally 3rd grade! The book that I really like is The 100th Day Worries. Great book!! My kids loved it last year!!

How about 100 pieces of snack? You get a variety of small items - goldfish, cheerios, raisins, etc. The kids have to come up with a 'recipe' for their mix - that's where the math comes in - simple would be 10 of each of ten items, but you can challenge them to come up with more complicated mixes - 20 of this, 10 of that, 5 of something else... and so on. When I taught 3rd, my students loved this activity!

    How about some multiplication?
    4 groups of 100 paper clips = 400
