well; you guys are pretty interesting people! :thumb:
So, here are a few different things about me you may not know:

    1. I may be in my 40s, but I still swallow my gum.

    2. I have never ever danced or been interested in doing so, though I love watching Dancing w the Stars and watching Michael Jackson dance and twirl! Just never been interested.

    3. I am basically a homebody and love it...so, it's a good thing I work...otherwise I probably would choose to stay home. As a teenager, I was often invited out and declined because I was very content to be at home. Something my kids definitely didn't inherit!

    4. I really don't enjoy reading...I skim...but I don't share that secret with my students and always encourage them to read, read, read!

    5. Been happily married for 23 years and have 2 kids.

    6. I'm not an animal lover, though we do have a bunny and a dog...and guess who's the one petting away and giving them attention? :p LOL

    7. I can be a real couch potato if I let myself.

    8. I get this burst of energy after watching shows like Mission Organization and other "homecleaning" shows.

    9. Took a "girl" trip to Hawaii (I was 22 yrs. old) for a whole week! We saved our $$ and had the best of everything and did alot! I never did say I didn't go out, just that I am content to be home. :p

    10. Jesus Christ has been a powerful influence in my life since I was a teenager.

TeacherSandra, I'm like you regarding #3. I could stay home & enjoy my magazines, TV, & computer. But, I'd jump at the chance to do out to dinner, the movies, shopping, or take a trip of course!

#9 sounds really fun. I wish I had gotten to do that.

#10 is wonderful to hear. I've been raised in church since I was a baby.

    Okay, here's my second round.

    1. My children are the most important things in the world to me.
    2. I think I'm slightly addicted to my computer.
    3. I moved a lot when I was in school--I went to 4 different schools before I was in grade 5. My dad had another transfer when I was in grade 8, but my mom, sister and I said we wouldn't move again, so he accepted a transfer to another department in the same city.
    4. I like to be alone in a quiet house; my children are very much like me in this way.
    5. While there are many people here whom I admire, there are a couple who are my heroes and I would love to meet them someday.
    6. I am the "Queen of Procrastination". Right now, I should be cleaning the bathrooms, tidying the spare room and looking through dessert recipes, but here I am, at my computer.
    7. I have never been to a horse race or a casino. Our staff Christmas party is going to be at a local track this year, and I just may place a bet!
    8. I am not as secure about myself as I wish I were. There are many things I do well, but I tend to focus on my faults and not my successes.
    9. I have quite bright red highlights in my hair right now.
    10. I am the oldest mom from my daughter's soccer team (although I don't look it!)

    1. I have 8 siblings, but they are all HALF siblings!
    2. I am in a writing group, but will admit only to YOU that I am the worst writer in the bunch (and I always thought I was a pretty good writer!)
    3. I never thought a thing about $ one way or the other until very recently. It never occurred to me that I should chose a career that would make me $ or that I should save for a rainy day! Whoa! (For years my ambitions were film making, theater and writing, if that gives you an idea of where my head has been!)
    4. I am crafty! I plan on making ALL of my holiday gifts for friends and family this year. I will probably only buy things for my sweetie!
    5. I have been to Israel, but that's the only place outside of N. America I have ever been.
    6. I was in the paper the same day that Obama was elected! So the paper that has the big special cover, also has an article with me mentioned in it!!!
    7. I'm gay. I also have the world's greatest partner!!!
    8. I am constantly thinking about what I would like to do with my life... teaching is great, but there are SO many other things!
    9. I have lived in probably over 20 homes! I have lived in 8 cities.
    10. I have had about 20 jobs! For many years I couldn't keep a job for more than a few months, and I would work 3 or more jobs at a time!

    1. I have been to five different countries on three different continents. I was able to go to Tanzania in grade 11 with 4-H

    2. I am probably the only elementary teacher I know who wanted to major in Politics (I didn't major in Politics, I had to minor, since they didn't offer a minor in Psychology)

    3. I really love a good challenge in my teaching.

    4. This is my third year of teaching, but my first year with a classroom (and I'll be switching schools and grades midyear). After a year in Resource and a year in Behaviour Intervention, it's nice to have my own classroom, but I'm also relying heavily on more seasoned teachers!

    5. I absolutely love lasagna. It's my favourite!

    6. I am obsessive compulsive. I love order and organization. I recently purchased a labeller, just before school started, and I had joked that the kids would be going home with labels. I hate leaving my desk a mess at school. My room? That's another story!

    7. Until about grade 8 or 9, I had always wanted to become a professional country music singer. Then I transitioned into wanting to be a Music teacher, and then finally, I came to the realization that I was not patient enough with the piano to achieve the level of mastery that was required for University entry into the Music Education program.

    8. Despite the fact that I didn't have the level of mastery of piano required by University, I still do play piano from time to time. I enjoy it, but largely use it to play chords. I also play guitar, and while it's been a while, I have played drums as well.

    9. I moved around a lot. Before starting school I had lived in four different houses (Northern Quebec and three houses in New Brunswick). My family moved to Toronto when I started school, and then before grade six, we moved to rural Manitoba... we lived in two different places there, before moving out here to New Brunswick for grade twelve. I have lived in three different houses since moving to New Brunswick.

    10. Eventually I think I would like to get my Masters. I'm not sure if I would like to try Special Education or Guidance and Counseling, or potentially Administration (though I'm not ruling it out, it's not high on my list). It's still early in my career though.

    1. I am the oldest of six.
    2. I am a certifiable history nerd.
    3. I love to watch basketball. Used to play it, but those days are gone.
    4. I enjoy cooking and baking, but don't do either very much because..
    5. I hate cleaning with a passion. What's the point? It just gets dirty again.
    6. I can be foolishly optimistic.
    7. People with dirty minds often laugh at some of the things I say because my words are taken out of context.
    8. I love to dance and don't need a drop of alcohol to get on the dance floor.
    9. I enjoy singing but hate karaoking.
    10. I'm terrified of cockroaches.

    1. I have a very real fear of the dentist and I hate anything scraping on my teeth, or even hearing it on someone else.

    2. I love cheese. I just ate a proper cheese plate for dinner - brie, blue, and havartie with dill, with some smoked sausage, crackers, and bread. I guess it's not "proper" cuz I didn't have a hard cheese.

    3. I want to be a crazy cat lady for halloween but I am worried I won't be able to find enough stuffed cats.

    4. I am really interested in event planning and I love watching wedding shows, but I think I would be horrible at it and would never actually do it.

    5. I desperately want to get a doctorate - preferably a full time phd at a renowned school.

    6. I can't wait to get a dog.

    7. I just ordered a scale today and I am really excited to start WW online again/

    8. I really want to try to do Clean Eating - and then I drive by a McDonalds and I forget.

    9. I love food shows. Good Eats marathon now.

    10. I love grey sweatpants. I think i have 5 pair.

    1. So far I have been able to accomplish all of my dreams and I'm coming up with bigger and better ones. My next one is to get into grad school and eventually come out with a Master's and Doctorate.

    2. I have the best significant other that tells me I'm beautiful and that he loves me every day.

    3. I'm a perfectionist and a control freak. If it's my week for curriculum, I prep everything and explain my ideas in full detail for my co teachers to make sure everything goes smoothly.

    4. My father is my best friend. I can tell him anything and everything.

    5. I'm a sucker for mashed potatoes and meatloaf(done right)

    6. I'm afraid of heights and flying, but I hike up small mountains with my boyfriend and I fly, no problem, to see family members.

    7. Labrador Retrievers are my favorite kind of dog. I melt every time I see their cute faces.

    8. I will never wear diamonds unless they are CZ and I will never buy or receive roses because of a documentary I saw.

    9. I love watching MotoGP and World Super Bike races(motorcycle) with my boyfriend.

    10. I love working out but I have finally learned to love my body the way it is and as long as I'm healthy and alive I could care less what other people think. My boyfriend, friends, and family love me the way I am and that's all that matters.

    1. I have one sister who is four years younger than me.

    2. I am 24 years old, and I still live at home with my Mom and Dad. Hey, it is free rent, and I am able to pay off some major loans.

    3. I am single, but I am starting to become fearful that I will always be single, and therefore never have children.

    4. My faith in God is my rock. Without my faith, I would be utterly lost.

    5. I go to a non-traditional church - we serve food to drunk people at bars - not your typical church, huh? However, I am still searching for the "right church."

    6. I find it disgusting that "the church" has forgotten that there are people who graduate from college and do not get married immediately. There needs to be something for people who are beyond the "College and Career" group and the "Young Couples" group.

    7. I absolutely love teaching kindergarten, and I want to do it for the rest of my life!

    8. I have a Shih-Tzu named Max and he is wonderful!

    9. I love music, but I am not a fan of rap. Yes, I realize that it is music, but it is totally not my thing. I love Christian and country music the best!

    10. I love to read romance novels. I only like to read books that end "happily ever after." Yes, I know that this isn't how life is, but because life can be so dreary, I have to have positive things somewhere, right?

    5. I had all my children weeks early and my last child was eight weeks early.

    6. My parents lost all their belongings due to Hurricane Camille(1969) and my sister who was still living in the dame area lost everything she owned due Hurricane Katrina in 2005. She has since moved to Baton Rouge.

Oh, for those 5 minutes to talk to a departed one. My deceased father was such a powerful person in our lives that we still think of him as with us. I often say to my kids, "What would grandpa say?" Even my grandson, who really did not know him, can relate to our comments about him.

I can relate to that, Blue.... A couple of decades ago I was in Calgary, Alberta putting together a very promising "oil deal" when I got word that my Dad died unexpectedly in Texas....... In a matter of seconds I went from a successful fast track corporate exec to a very lost 14 year old boy. I would give anything for five minutes to talk to him.....:(:(...

I can relate as well. For months after my husband died, I wished I could get a letter, phone call or even a text message from him telling me he made it to Heaven ok. Sounds crazy that I wished that now, but it was a very real wish at the time.

    1. Much of the time I'm more comfortable with dogs than with people.
    2. I was born in San Francisco.
    3. I don't kill spiders (unless they look REALLY scary).
    4. I've seen the Ramones play live at least 10 times.
    5. I was a premie - I fit in my mom's size 6 shoe box.
    6. I dream about my dog Gypsy, who passed away.
    7. My first car was a '65 Mustang.
    8. In high school, my girlfriends and I actually levitated someone over our heads while chanting "light as a feather, stiff as a board". It was an amazing feat of mind over matter.
    9. I love watching true-life crime shows.
    10. I don't have a dishwasher.

TNT~I know how you feel that wishing you could talk to your husband just one last time. I feel that way about my parents especially my mother because she left us so fast. I was at the hospital for the day with the intention of going back the next day when I got the call in the middle of the night that she had passed. Had I known that she wouldn't make it thru the night I would not have left her side. I can't believe how at this moment, it seems that it was yesterday, I am welling up with tears and it has been almost 13 yrs since she passed.

    1--I am an only child.
2--I have been married for 23 years.
3--I swore in high school that I was never getting married and having children. I ended up being the 3rd person in my high school class to get married and am currently the one who has been married the longest as I won that award at our 20th reunion. I also won the award for the most children at our 10th reunion.
4--I taught for a year, then stayed home for 10 years, worked for a year as a paralegal for a real estate attorney and then went back into the classroom.
5--My parents and in-laws celebrate most holidays together which is very nice for us.
6--I have 3 great children. My oldest daughter will graduate next year with a degree in elementary education, my middle daughter is a freshman at a local college magoring in chemistry with a concentration in forensics, and my "baby" who is my 6'0" son is a junior in high school.
7--Both of my daughters moved out of the house in August so I am learning how to cook for fewer people.
8--I hate cooking which my family finds funny because my first degree was in Food Science. I also have a degree in secondary education--chemistry and physics.
9--I had my mom as a teacher 4 times in high school.
10--My whole family are Disney World fanatics. This summer was our 12th trip and we are going back for the 13th trip at Thanksgiving.
