sugar chalk

Does anyone know how to make "sugar chalk?" It will wash off the board but won't erase off...I have tried oil pastels but would rather use this, if I can find the recipe...it makes the date, schedule, etc. stay on the board until you wash it off...Thanks!

I don't know how to make it but I use Bright Sticks, you have to use water to get it off the board, Kinda pricey but great.

For chalkboards or will it work on white boards? I know the bright sticks will work on white boards.

Sugar Chalk Paint Sticks
In a ¼ cup of water dissolve 2 teaspoons of sugar. Soak various colors of chalk sticks until softened (about 10 minutes or more). Use like paint sticks on dark, dull construction paper. The chalk stays on because the sugar glues the chalk to the paper.

I use Bright Sticks on chalkboards. They come off easy with water. They are only like $10 at Sam's Club for a pack of 5.

I have a chalk board in my class for the first time. I have the bright sticks because I use them on the white board but never thought you could use them on the chalkboard. Does the water ruin them. What about the sugar?
