Does anyone teach the QAR strategy??

I'm attempting to teach it this year and I would love to hear how others teach it. I just want to make sure I'm heading in the right direction.

Yes. In the past, I have read stories to the class and written sample questions as well as had students write their own questions. There are a lot of resources online for QAR, too- I believe some are at The Reading Lady (the Mosaic of Thought Listserve).

QAR is really pretty simple once kids get used to doing it. It's a helpful strategy for reading.
The Reading Lady does have fantastic resources.

QAR's are Question Answer Relationships:Right There, Think and Search, Author and You, and On Your Own.
I use this method every year. I teach it in my guided reading-one QAR a week until all 4 are done. I reinforce in all subject areas. For 5th grade it is awesome, because the kids remember these names easier than inference, etc.
