Mimio lesson plans

Yay! I finally got my mimio, I was told it was a smartboard, but it is a Mimio.

The problem is that there are not a lot of premade lessons out there like there are for the promethean and smartboard.

Does anyone know how to convert the other formats to .ink files for the mimio?

Does anyone have any lessons that they created to share?

I have only created one so far for lunch count and for some calendar activities. I would be willing to share what I have. (It is not very fancy since this is only my first day using it!)

Thanks

My district has decided that they are going to go the mimio route next year. I've put in my request for one. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. So, sorry, no good ideas for you yet!

I have one that I made that is a double tens frame for addition. I use it in my kinder class. There are red and yellow chips (like 2 color counters). They roll the dice and move that many counters up and create the addition problems. I'll send it to you if you would like it.

I would love to see your calendar activities.

I was pretty disappointed by the amount of already made lessons for the mimio. I'm trying to figure out a way to get the math flash cards to work like a deck of cards that would change after you answer it (just like it would do if I used a real deck of cards). I don't think it's possible though.

Great news, firstgradeteach! I love my mimio. I only wish they could mount our projectors so I don't have to take it out and put it away every day, and bother with the cords and such.

Have you browsed the resources section of mimoconnect.com? You have to register with your mimio serial number first, but teachers at my grade level report it has lots of good lesson plans. I have to admit I haven't taken the time yet to do so! This summer!

I also have this site bookmarked for future web browsing: http://www.lynnreedy.com/mimio.htm

Thanks for the link! I've look up a couple things and they are good. And I thought I was being so creative with my tens frames they had the same thing on there.

I did register at mimioconnect but didn't know where to find the lessons. I found a lot of trouble shooting information but that is it.

Here are the sites that I have used so far, thanks to suggestions from a lot of people. However, many of the lessons are repeats from site to site.

I also have used a lot of games on www.funbrain.com

My kids love completing the madlibs.

If you pm me with your email, I will send my simple calendar activities to you. It is really a calendar where they have to drag the numbers into the calendar template, a money page where a student writes a money amount with the pen and then students drag my coins to show different ways to make the money amount, a blank page for number sentences of the day, a lunch t chart is the first page, I want a graph of the day but I don't like the template graphs. I will have to make my own. It is really nothing fancy. At the beginning of the year I will use a days of the week and months of the year activity.

I also want to make simple click and drag or shutter items for reading strategy practice.

Example: Fluency phrases with a shutter so I can close the shutter to speed the students along. (Like I do with my finger with individual students)

I haven't played with my dice or spinners yet! The tens frame is a great idea! I will have to try it tomorrow!

Did you try clicking on resources? It looked like they had links from there. I haven't been able to try yet because I haven't registered with my mimio serial number. Guess I need to figure out where to find it.

mimio connnect does have many great lessons...

Also, Mimio is great bc you can open any type of file- once in a while the smart file may open a little strange though, like something you may not have locked in place will be locked. But for the most part its great.

You just open your mimio software. Choose Open file, use the drop down menu to change the file type and you can open them.
