Instructional Specialist cover letter

I would appreciate any help on a cover letter for an instructional specialist position. Here is my draft. Critique away!

The students of ABC School deserve teachers who create stimulating environments that enhance learning at all ability levels. As an Instructional Specialist, it is my goal that all teachers at ABC School design classrooms <something here to tie in with the stimulating environments>. I am eager to offer my skills, energy, and passion to the ABC School team as an Instructional Specialist.

I will complete my Masterís program in Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment from University by January 2010. I believe that the concepts learned thus far can have a real world impact on the students at ABC School, developing them into productive citizens and life long learners. Life long learners self-direct their own learning by self-managing, self-monitoring, and self-modifying through setting clear goals, thinking about how they think, and changing their behavior as needed.

The information I have enclosed sheds further light on my instructional abilities and work ethic. If anything more is required, please do not hesitate to contact me at XXXXXXX. I look forward to discussing with you in greater detail how my qualifications and attributes meet the needs of the students of ABC School. Thank you for taking the time to review my credentials and to consider me for employment.

Thanks!

I think it sounds good

For stimulating environments, how about:

As an Instructional Specialist, it is my goal that all teachers at ABC School design classrooms that are child-centered, interactive, and feature multiple learning styles.

Is it too short? Should I put something else in there?

What does an instructional specialist do? Is it like being an instructional leader in the school?

Just a thought... Would you want to include some specific skill or experience that makes you unique? I think it's really well written but thought you could add a concrete example of a strength.

Hope that doesn't sound overly critical...

I think your format looks good. I just wrote a letter with a similar format where I did an intro paragraph with the last sentence being "I would bring the following strengths to ABC school: Then did the bold words like you and a few examples after each.

GL!

melissa, not critical at all...and that's exactly what they do. They make sure that teachers are teaching the state standards and giving them ways to do that. I don't know what skills I could put. Ummm, will have to think about that...

Awesome, TG! I also was thinking about adding this as a 2nd paragraph:

Here are three reasons why I believe I am the most qualified candidate for the Instructional Specialist position available in your school.
1. I am Highly Qualified by the Texas State Board of Educators.
2. I have experience designing curriculum and assessments.
3. My effective teaching practices include differentiating of instruction, using cues, questions, and graphic organizers, and utilizing cooperative learning groups.

Love that last paragraph! I know everyone's letters usually have that same info but the way you wrote it is great!
