slideshow songs

I am doing a slide show for my daughter's 4th grade teacher who she has had since 2nd grade. Do you know any appropriate, good slide show songs to use?

I'm terrible at song titles and song lyrics, but if you do a google search for uplifting songs, songs for graduation, inspirational songs, and add "pop" or "popular" to the search you might locate some music that would fit.

I did Rascall Flatt's "My Wish" last year for our pre-k graduation slideshow

How about "What a Wonderful World" ?

I see trees of green, red roses too
I see them bloom for me and you
And I think to myself what a wonderful world.

I see skies of blue and clouds of white
The bright blessed day, the dark sacred night
And I think to myself what a wonderful world.

The colors of the rainbow so pretty in the sky
Are also on the faces of people going by
I see friends shaking hands saying how do you do
They're really saying I love you.

I hear babies crying, I watch them grow
They'll learn much more than I'll never know
And I think to myself what a wonderful world
Yes I think to myself what a wonderful world.

It's pretty syrupy, but Ronnie Milsap's What a Difference You've Made in My Life might work for the occasion.

What - a - difference you've made in my life
What a difference you've made in my life
You're my sunshine day-ay and ni-ight
Oh what a difference you've ma-a-ade in my li-iiife

What a change you have made in my heart
What a change you have made in my heart
You replaced all the bro-oken par-ar-arts
Oh what a change you have ma-a-ade in my hear-eart

Love to me was just a word in a song
That had been way over-used
But now I've joined in the singin'
'Cause you've shown me love's true meanin'
That's why I want to sprea-ead the new-ews

What a difference you've made in my life
What a difference you've made in my life
You're my sunshine day-ay and ni-ight
Oh what a difference you've ma-a-ade in my li-iiife

What a difference you've made in my life (listen to it)
What a difference you've made in my life
You're my sunshine day-ay and ni-i-i-ight
Oh what a difference you've ma-a-ade, yeah-eah

What a difference you've made in my li-ife
Difference you've made in my li-ife
What a difference you've made in my li-ife
You're my sunshine day-ay and ni-ight
Oh what a difference you've ma-a-ade

Go ahead and sing it

What a difference you've made in my life
What a difference you've made in my life, yeah-heah-eah-eah-heah
You're my sunshine day-ay and ni-ight
Oh yeah, sing it to me
What a difference you've ma-a-ade

What a difference you've made in my life, woh-oh-oh-oh
What a difference you've made in my-y-y-y life
You're my sunshine day-ay and ni-ight
Oh what a difference you've ma-a-ade
What a difference you've ma-a-ade, in my li-i-i-iiife-iiiiiii-hi-ife

If you want to go with classic rock, .38 Special sang a song called "Teacher, Teacher". There's also "Photograph" by Nickelback (Canadian band). You might try "Hey Beautiful Day" by Bedouin Soundclash (also Canadian) or "My Best Friend" by Queen. How about "All Star" by Smashmouth?

If you're looking for something a little more child-oriented, consider "What A Day" by Fred Penner or "Happy Day" by Jack Grunsky. These tend to be short songs, however, so it depends on how long the show is.

Usually when you do a search online, you'll find websites that will give you a 30 second clip of the song to hear (Amazon is good for this). Hope this helps.

At our 5th grade graduation, we used Taylor Hick's song, "Do I Make you Proud?" It was so precious.
