I am working on a case study for class and i have to come up with sequential objectives for an annual goal.
The annual goal for the student in reading is to apply word analysis skills to identify and understand umfamiliar words at an accuracy of 85% in 2 of 3 trials. The area i am having trouble finding a short term objective for is long vowels. If anyone has any ideas i would greatly appreciate it.

How about understand long a, long e, etc... ? Not really sure if this is what you're looking for? Perhaps being able to sort between long a and short a, etc?
Step 1: The student will verbally state the long vowel rule.
Step 2: The student will be able to identify the letters that form the long vowel sounds in one syllable words.
3: The student will be able to read one syllable long vowel words.
