My PGP this year is to improve writing skills.

My plan is to implement our new writing program and use journals.

My documentation is observations and lesson plans.

Thanks for the response. Do you think you could add more detail? Or perhaps someone has another with math??? Thanks so much.

A professional growth plan is a personal goal so it would be hard to share mine and have it meaningful for you. Think about your own needs: What areas of math instruction do you feel a need to improve in? What new strategies would you like to try? Maybe you'd like to create math centers or use math problem solving notebooks? Maybe incorporate more math manipulatives in your lessons? Let us know and then maybe we can help with the wording....

I'd like to do the plan in writing. I'm always using journals a lot, but I need a plan of action to make the writing better. I need to know some ways to increase more interesting writing. I could use some strategies to do that.

How about incorporating 'mentor texts' into your writing workshop which could be used for multiple lessons? Go to this website:
http://www.readingrecovery.org/pdf/c...Write_Time.pdf

and scroll down quite a few pages to get to a chart of mentor texts for different grade levels.

I agree that professional development plans are so personalized that I don't think anyone can write it for you. You need to think about yourself as a teacher and devise your own ideas for what you need/want to improve.
Seeing someone elses can help with wording but it really won't have any meaning or be any help to you as a professional if it's not your own.
