average classroom dimensions

Hello everyone,

I am an El. Ed. Major who is new to posting here, but have used this site and read from the forum several times. I feel you can never learn enough from those who are in the classrooms teaching our children. I have an assignment to design my classroom. What are some of your classroom dimensions?

Mine is 8m x 7m (3m is 10 feet, so around 27 x 23 feet). This is normal for an Australian classroom, although there's a fair bit of variation.

I don't know the measurements, but the map says it is 972 square feet. That is a very large room!! I grew up in a 1014 sf house that had 3 bedrooms and 2 baths!

mine is pretty unique. It is a quarter of a circle or arc shaped. My longest wall is about 23 feet and my other wall is 20. The arc is all windows and joins the other two walls. Mine is the biggest in my school.

Mine is tiny. I've never measured. Maybe I'll do a rough estimate using my feet tmw if I remember.

We have a wall of cabinets
a wall of bookshelves/cubbies
a wall of 2 dry erase boards and 2 bulletins
a wall with a large chalboard, a bulletin board, door and a small desk in front of the BB

We have 3 small round tables, an area rug for 8 children to sit. There's almost no room other than that.

Mine is 30X30 with one wall all cabinets, one wall chalkboard, one wall bulletin board and dry erase (that is for math meeting), and the fourth wall is window, built in bookshelves and computers. I love my room but it is hard to find a place to hang things!

Mine is about 30x30. One entire wall of windows (looking out over the ocean, can't complain!), one wall of closets, one wall white board/bb, one wall bulletin board. Also, not much space to hang things. I cleared out a lot of junk and unused furniture this summer, so it is kind of bare right now. yeah!
