October themed bulletin board
At my school, we have two large bulletin boards in the hallway, and each teacher decorates one of them for a month. I"m signed up for October, and I'm a little stuck. It's a pre-k to grade 8 Lutheran school, so I'd like to emphasize something other than Halloween. I could do pumpkins or falling leaves, however, here in Arizona, fall is a somewhat unknown concept. I guess I'm especially looking for a good saying. Any ideas>

There is another post about the same thing. I am picking another teacher's idea using a scarecrow (with the teacher's face). I'm still laughing. Then I plan to put in a pumpkin patch at the bottom with the students faces in them.
For my second board, I plan to use something more academic. Maybe something from their toad journal (classroom pet).

Ok, thanks. I hadn't even looked to see if this was already being discussed. Now how do I go about finding that thread?

webs
I have to brag on myself...I did an October bulletin board last year that turned out awesome and im pretty sure it would work for all your grades. You take glue and make a web design onto wax paper and let it dry then peel off. They look like real webs and then i bought webbing at a dollar tree and made that the border and my title said "First Grade is a web of fun"

October 4th-10th is World Space Week. You could do something with that.
The 14th-20th is Apple Week.

We did a corn field... "Lend me an EAR and we'll tell you something CORNY" I had them do some dot art to make it look like indian corn then I printed up some unopened corn with stupid corn related jokes. The other staff got a kick out of it. I got the idea from the Garden of Praise website.
