Step-Up Ideas

Hello. I have just gotten a new job in a second grade position and will be doing "step-up" day in a few weeks. Not sure if anyone else does this, but this is a day where the new students come in for about 45 minutes and get to meet me and each other. I only have 45 minutes and have planned to do a mini morning meeting and then some activity. One suggestion I got was to have them cut out and color little versions of themselves (I have an outline) and then use that as a bulletin board in the fall for when they arrive. I like the mini morning meeting idea, any other suggestions for a follow-up activity that would only take about 20-25 minutes?

Thank you!

-Matt

I do like the mini-meeting idea & I also like the bulletin board one.

Maybe you could let let kids make & design a nametag to use on their desks for next year.

Let me know how your step-up day goes.

Hope I helped.
