Question iPad - use personal account or make new one?

All teachers just got a brand new iPad 4. The biggest question so far has been: do we make a new iTunes account for our school-issued iPad, or do we use our personal account?

I'm leaning towards making a new account but most people are tempted to use their personal account.

What are the pros and cons of each? I simply like to keep my private stuff separate from my professional stuff. How does this all fit into the Open Records Act?

Thanks.

Good question..we -teachers- have a whole school account, but we don't have a password. So I used personal account so I could download the apps I already paid for our personal iPads and iPods. I didn't think about it.

If you get a new account, do you still have to supply your own credit card information? My biggest concern with any school-issued iPad is that you could be in some serious financial trouble if anyone got ahold of it and your CC information.

Good point, Caesar. Personally, I don't plan on purchasing any apps; merely getting the free ones.

However, I think iTunes does ask for your CC when you register, right?

Funny - not sure how this is happening, but when I click on "App Store" on my school-issued iPad, my personal iTunes user name is now popping up, asking for my password. I wonder how it's linked? G-r-r-r...

I set up the school one with a new account. You don't have to set up wi a credit card. Download a free app,,and it will take you through the registration steps for a free account.

My home account is completely separate.

I think the school account should be separate.

Last year I had a school iPad with a school account. I did not have to use a credit card to set up the account.
