States that accept FL Teaching Certificate.

I was reading in my Elementary Ed brochure that a few other states accept the FL teaching certificate. It said that I could find the information on which states at the FLDOE website, however, I looked everywhere and couldn't find anything on there

I was just curious because there are a few states that I'd love to move to (if there is a job opening at that time) and wondered if anyone here knew?

Thank you!

Many states will allow a person with a certificate from another state to teach within a grace period (which varies from one to three years, typically) while fulfilling the local requirements for HQ and all that.

You might try checking the teacher-licensure Web pages of the states you're interested in.

Another sign of the bad state of affairs for teachers in Florida. Sigh.

Looking for a job
Lets see...

I google "florida teaching reciprocity"

http://education.vermont.gov/new/htm...ciprocity.html

It seems that Florida has signed the Instate Agreement for Reciprocity. It can probably be any of the states on that list.

I think you'll need to check with the DOE in the other states you're interested in.

I believe in my search, there was full reciprocity with North Carolina. In New York, you'll be granted an initial license but will need to take the NY teacher's exams.
