i dont know about froebel's philosophy, although i do know about Maria Montessori and her philosophy. If there is anything that I can help you with let me know.

I am not sure if oouch99 still needs this or not, I would still write for benefit of others. Montessori system provides freedom of choice and movement to the child and the teacher acts as a guide. Children are in various age brackets normally(3-6 years.) Children can choose the games of their own choice. On the other hand, in Kindergarten, the environment is little controlled. Children learn through activity. Even the academics are activcity based. This programmed is stretched to 2-3 years of learning called Pre-K and Kindergarten or added with more grade called Reception (age group of 2 and a half yr). Gradually, activities are reduced and academics take priorities. In kindergarten, children are prepared for entry into grade 1.
