Best Ammonia-Free Drugstore Haircolor?

For those of you who dye your hair at home & use ammonia-free haircolor, which brand(s) do you find are the best?

I used to go to the hair salon every few months, but I've really cut down on that & began coloring my hair myself. But, I don't want the ammonia if I can help it. I like Garnier HerbaShine, but I want to see if there's anything better.

Naturcolor is available at Trader Joe's, and Naturtint is available at Whole Foods and most health food stores. Both are around $15 a box.

Have you tried just some natural henna? Lush makes a really good one.

I like Garnier hair color as well. I like the non permanent kind. They deposit enough color without the long term commitment.

I dye my hair with Bud Light ...... It gives it a nice foamy golden look.

Best thing about it is it's cheap....... and what you don't use you can drink...... Can't beat a deal like that.....

(Disclaimer: After you wake up the next morning your hair will return to a grayish brown military look....... at least that's what happens to me...)
