I am a first year, first grade teacher. I just got a letter from the school secretary asking me for my class supply list so she can mail it to the parents. Any suggestions on what I should include? Thanks!
backpack or bookbag (decide if you want the ones that roll)
24 count crayon
2 boxes of Kleenex
sharp tip scissors 4-5 inches
1 bottle white glue
10-12 yellow #2 pencils
1 eraser (pink or green)
1-70 page, wide-ruled spiral (if they will have a journal)
1 box of gallon baggies
I would emphasize that parents should only buy what is on the list. 1st Graders (most students, really) like to bring cute, fun stuff. These are distractions you do not want. Baggies can be used for book bags.
Hope this helps.
bookbag (we always say no wheels because the younger ones have trouble steering them and because they are so much larger)
16-24 count crayons
2-pocket folders (however many you think they would use)
jumbo eraser (or pencil top erasers)
glue sticks (they are so much easier to use and less messy than bottles)
composition book (we use these for journal writing)
8-count markers (I ususally combine these into a class supply box for all to use)
and anything else you think you would need them to have
I agree w/others. I put baby wipes & refillable soap because we had a sink in the room. The only other thing is if ypu have classroom snacks you may want extra snacks like pretzels or something basic in case you have someone doesn't like something or whatever. Old shirts for art, dixie cups in case drinks are brought in.
Hope this helps as well!!!
This is the snow from our driveway!
Here is our school's first grade supply list. Our teachers are only allowed to place 10 items on a list. Hope this helps you.
