Quick! Need Fast Answer!

Do you need a Master's degree to teach pre-AP and AP English?

An interested principal just contacted me and I need this answer ASAP.

Thanks so much.

As I understand it, there are no special requirements for teaching AP or pre-AP other than attending an AP conference.

Principal
Have you submitted an application yet? Please do, and are you interested in the position tied to coaching or the advanced Englishes?

Thanks,
Principal

My Response
I'm interested in both, with a preference towards the advanced Englishes.

I submitted a complete application via fax last week. I hadn't heard anything back, so I contacted you to let you know my interest about the position.

My wife and I are very interested in the BLAH community and school system.

If you found it appropriate, I would love to schedule a trip to BLAH to discuss my prospects for teaching at BLAH ISD further.

Sincerely,
Me

Is this good?

Not sure I like the wording on "If you found it appropriate..." but that's just my opinion.

Here's what I went with:

"If you deem it appropriate, I would love the opportunity to travel to BLAH to discuss my prospects for teaching at BLAH ISD further."

I'm trying to get an interview, but no push myself on them at the same time.

I'm thinking in most school districts you either need to have a GT certification or have so many GT hours. What area are you looking in?
