email or phone calls to principals?

The school district where I applied has a list of all the schools websites, BUT no links for emails or anything. I was thinking of just calling since I know what positions the schools are hiring for. At this point I'm already in the teacher pool where my file can be reviewed by principals. I'm thinking the worse they can say is no...or they're looking at files. Has anyone ever called a school? What would you recommend? Faxing? I'm actually trying to get emails through a friend who works in the school district, but it's taking her forever to get them to me. Thanks!

I would NOT recommend calling. I don't have time for calls during the day, and the majority of administrators don't either. Is it a public school district? If so, I am sure you can find their email addresses.
