Early Childhood or Elementary Education

Which degree do you think would be better to obtain. I'm currently taking courses to complete the Early Childhood Education Program. I know the market isn't the greatest, so I'm concerned about limiting myself to just K-3. However, I'm not really that interested in teaching middle school kids. They highest grade I'd like to teach would be 5th grade.

Could you seek K-5 certification with your degree?
