Hello, everyone!

I'm a college freshman, and I'm pretty sure I want to teach. I was a TA for AP Biology at high school, and I've been a tutor for a while, so I know I'll like the actual teaching aspect, but I've been indecisive as to what subject I want to teach.

Currently, I'm tied between Math and Family & Consumer Science. (I'm extremely fickle... Heads up in advance!)

Either way, I'm excited to meet everyone.

You'll have a MUCH easier time finding a job teaching math. Every school has a math department--my school has 16 math teachers. We only have 2 F&CS teachers. Some schools have none. If you're equally interested in both subjects, math is where the jobs lie.

Welcome!

I was like you when I first went to college. The good thing is that you have to take certain classes as part of your degree requirement so use this time to just explore. You might realize you have a love for art, or science, or even math!

Don't limit yourself now. I did and regret that, now.

Thank you both for your advice!

I started out as a pre-pharmacy major, ironically enough, and determined that it wasn't for me. I can't stand the science labs and the asinine protocols and the professors dogging people for third person passive voice for everything(which to me is the most convoluted way to write anything, but I think that's a tear for a different day).

I'm switching to math because, out of the classes I'm taking right now, I like Calculus the most. =D
